Medium Duty Truck
Better Where It Counts. Every Delivery.
From dotted white lines to double yellow lines, business seems to be filled with lines but, there is only one that really counts: your bottom line. Being better on the bottom line is what makes Cummins a leading engine manufacturer for medium-duty trucks.
A great track record of proven performance continues to improve with Cummins medium-duty truck engines. The Cummins ISL9, ISC8.3 and ISB6.7 continue to have some of the highest power density of any engine in their class. Whether you are pulling a loaded dump truck out of the mud or a beverage truck across town, you have got the power of Cummins to get the job done.
- Better Fuel Economy - Cummins has boosted the industry-leading fuel economy of our ISL9 and ISB6.7 engines, by the addition of an air intake throttle which made our Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) more efficient. The VGT™ Turbocharger on the ISL9 was modified for greater efficiency. The result was a reduction in parasitic losses that increased fuel economy and lowers operating costs. If high sulphur fuels are to be used, engines can be offered either with or without the aftertreatment system, depending on customer preference.
- Better Reliability and Durability - Cummins designs, develops and supports every critical component from air handling to exhaust aftertreatment as a totally integrated system. This allows us to optimize every function better.
- Better Customer Support - Cummins engines come with a comprehensive base warranty, and multiple options for extended coverage. They are backed by one of the largest and most capable parts and service network in the world. Cummins serves customers in approximately 190 countries and territories through a network of approximately 600 company-owned and independent distributor locations and approximately 6,500 dealer locations, providing the best service density in the business.
